Description (physical) |
Round Copper Brewing Kettle with wooden seat around the kettle body, large flu on top. the flu has some valve wheels on. There is a plate bearing the manufacturers name.
|
Description (iconographical) |
The kettle was in use by Greene King from 1938 onwards, at the end of this kettle's life it was decided that it should be placed on public view as a symbol of what Greene King does, and a reminder to those passing of what happens behind the walls of the building behind. the seat was added in 1984 as somewhere for people to sit and admire both the brewing house and the Theatre Royal on the opposite side of the road.
