Description (physical)

The roundel shows a young girl on a pedestal with water coming out of her mouth. It is based on the Schengel (beautiful girl) statue set up in the centre of a fountain in front of Koblenz town hall by Carl Burger in 1941.

Description (iconographical)

Although well meaning in being presented by the runners of Koblenz a memento of this Nazi inspired fountain seems unfortunate and may well explain why it is so relatively difficult to see. It was removed in 2009 when the seating was replaced by a low brick surround around the trees.
