Description (physical)

The plaque is set under a segmental pediment framing scallop shell. A profile portrait roundel showing Victoria as Empress of India is set within a frame commemorating her Diamond jubilee, with another inscribed Nurses Home underneath. The house was designed by the local architect Arthur Pells and built at a cost of £400.

Description (iconographical)

The terracotta roundel, first cast by Stanley Bros for Queen Victoria’s 1887 Golden Jubilee, is here set in a new frame commemorating her Diamond Jubilee , with an additional plaque identifying the Nurses Home. The plaques were popular across Britain and the site includes two for the Golden Jubilee, added on 11 April 2015 in Church Road Wymondham and (repainted) in Nelson Road Central, Great Yarmouth
