Inscriptions York stone carved by Teucer Wilson Dedicated to the work of Michael Everitt who helped to bring art into the hospital setting Commissioned by the Hospital Art Project

Description (physical)

The stone has been left unworked at the top, to reflect the message elegantly curling across it. Its tactile surface invites the viewer to touch it.

Description (iconographical)

Michael Everitt (1933-2005) trained as an architect at the University of Leicester, joining Feilden and Mawson in 1981. Among his designs was the old Outpatients and Main Ward Block at the Former Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in Norwich. Having served as a magistrate, he was involved in many good causes, including the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Art Fund.
